From Around the World to Your Cup
Every cup of Lucky Goat Coffee has a story that begins long before it reaches your hands. Before we roast great coffee, we have to source great coffee. And before we can do that, we must understand where it comes from and how it’s grown.
Sourcing Great Coffee
Our journey begins in the Coffee Belt – a region that wraps around the globe near the equator where the climate is just right for growing coffee. This is where our beans are sourced from farms across different countries, each bringing its own flavor, character, and personality to the cup.
When we source our beans, we think about coffee in two broad categories: Blends and Single Origins.
Blends, like Billy Goat or Roastmaster’s, are made up of multiple coffees from different regions. Because of that, we start with a simple question: What do we want this coffee to taste like? Light and juicy? Bold and savory? Smooth and balanced? Those answers guide where we look and which coffees we bring together.
In contrast, Single-Origin coffees let one region take the spotlight. A Costa Rican coffee or an Ethiopian coffee tells the story of where it was grown, with flavors shaped by the land, climate, and farming practices unique to that region.
From there, the process becomes intentional. We taste. We test. We pay attention. It’s about finding coffees that feel balanced, smooth, and worth coming back to.
Roasting Great Coffee
Once the beans arrive at the roastery, the real craft begins. It’s about making small adjustments, paying attention, and learning what each coffee needs to bring out its best flavors. Part science, part instinct, and never rushed.
This is where potential turns into personality. Temperature, timing, and aroma all play a role. Brighter notes come forward, deeper flavors develop, and everything finds its balance. The goal is simple: coffee that tastes as great as it smells.
There’s something grounding about the roastery. The warmth of the machines. The hum in the background. The beans changing color before your eyes. It’s the heartbeat of Lucky Goat.
Brewing Great Coffee
Baristas focus on balance and flavor in every cup. Whether it’s a classic drip, a smooth cold brew, or a seasonal favorite topped with cold foam, each drink is meant to highlight the flavors developed at the roastery.
From the farm to your cup, Lucky Goat is built on the belief that great coffee takes time. And when it’s done right, you can taste the difference.
