Master Roaster

Jim Brady

Our Master Roaster, Jim Brady, comes to us from a long and exciting career in coffee roasting. He has been a small roastery/cafe owner, a wholesale roaster and worked for decades for some of the largest coffee companies in the world, including Keurig and most recently Starbucks. He is a longtime educator and writer of education for the Specialty Coffee Assn, teaching both Roasting and Sensory skills. He is also a founding member of the Coffee Writers Guild.

Jim oversees the process of coffee roasting from sourcing green coffee and its quality, to maintaining standards ensuring our consistency and quality for every roast. His decades-long passion for exceptional coffee fits with our ‘Constantly Consistent’ ideology here at Lucky Goat.

Originally from New Jersey, Jim has lived in several great roasting communities around the country including Seattle and most recently Pennsylvania. A writer and former session musician, Jim looks for the essence of life in everything he encounters. When not roasting, he enjoys traveling the country with his wife, Charmaine, in search of the next great cup of coffee.
